Gotta love the Thurmanator! We even got word that Thurman Thomas himself swung by McFadden’s the other night to check out NYCBBB’s stomping grounds while he was passing through town as he’d heard so much about us.

The Bills host the red hot New Orleans Saints this Sunday in what should be an exiting and high scoring game. The Saints have put up almost 100 total points in just two games and their quarterback, Drew Brees, has been on fire. Don’t count out the Bills who are looking to build on their victory over Tampa Bay last weekend which included TO’s first TD catch. And let’s not forget about Fred “Action” Jackson who is giving Marshawn Lynch a run for the starting job.

Kickoff is at 4:05pm and the specials at McFadden’s and Calico’s will run from 3pm until the game’s conclusion.

Hello all 1,920 NYC Bills Fans!

I’m still feeling sick after the Bills yet again embarrassed themselves in front of a national audience Monday night by blowing an 11 point lead over the Patriots with 5 minutes left. That’s 7 straight division losses for Coach Jauron if anybody is paying attention.

Fellow NYCBBB staffer Phil Mann laughed when it happened, and laughed all the way home. His wife thought he’d finally lost his mind as a Bills fan, so Phil decided to talk to a prominent Manhattan psychotherapist yesterday to share his thoughts and feelings on the Bills and get some real insight. Tomorrow night, Saturday, PUSH Buffalo will be holding their 3rd Annual Buffalo Takes Manhattan Night Party high atop Times Square! Hundreds attended last year’s awesome party that raises money to rebuild houses on Buffalo’s West Side. La Nova Pizza, McFadden’s, Bonnies, and Atomic Wings, Birch Beer, Labatt and Flying Buffalo Beer, a chance to win an autographed Andre Reed Jersey, Bills tickets and other great Buffalo items, great music, Buffalo themed decorations…a guaranteed great time celebrating Buffalo! $25 gets you into the event, all the food you can eat, and your first drink.

The Buffalo Bills’ season kicks off tonight as they take on the New England Patriots in Foxboro. Kickoff is at 7pm, with the drink/wing specials starting at 6pm at McFadden’s and Calico Jack’s. Could you ask for a better reason to celebrate happy hour this afternoon? Folks….we’re less than 6 hours away! Speaking of….anybody tailgating already?

We forgot to include in the previous email that all drink/wing specials this season will start one hour before kickoff, and END AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE GAME. The specials will no longer run for an hour after the game.

Hello all,

So let’s see… What happened since our last e-mail? I forget… Oh yeah. Now I remember. The Bills fired their offensive coordinator and cut their starting left tackle–less than a week before the first game on Monday night against the Patriots. Other than that, everything is hunky dory.

My rubber band trick is working. I will not get negative. Although I have one wrist and hand that resembles a lobster claw.

Just think, as of right now:
– The Bills are undefeated.
– TO’s toe is healed and he has a better pair of cleats.
– 3/5ths of the starting OL have never allowed a sack in an NFL game.*

Are you ready for some football!? Real football!?!

After what took place in preseason, we can only hope that the Bills are ready too. I guess Jauron feels the team is ready, because he rested almost the entire first unit during last night’s preseason game. Back when we first started NYCBBB, we sort of decided we would not use it as a forum to bash the team, so we won’t–as hard as it might be not to. See, there I go… Does that trick of snapping a rubber band on your wrist work for anyone? Because I might need it in order to stay nice.

But lets face it, no one can predict the future. And the Bills are 0-0 in games that matter so far this season. And 0-0 is not a losing record, which Jauron… {snap}

Before we start the linkage, let us first congratulate Kevin Smith. He’s now married! He’s now on his honeymoon, hopefully blissfully unaware of what’s gone on in preseason {snap, snap, snap}. Hey Kevin, since you won’t have to hear “when are you getting married?” repeatedly anymore, let me prepare you for the next round of questioning. “When are you having kids?” “When are you having kids?” “When are you having kids?” “When are you having kids?” “When are you having kids?”

As we indicated in a recent email, PUSH Buffalo will be holding its 3rd Annual Buffalo Takes Manhattan Party on Saturday, September 19th, at 8pm in Times Square. 2008’s party was a huge success thanks to the hundreds of NYC Backers who attended as well as the great silent auction donations you made. These included Bills game tickets, designer outfits, magazine subscriptions, BOSE headphones, artwork, autographed items, etc.

So we’re doing a call out to secure some silent auction items for next month’s fundraiser. Should you have anything to donate, please email me asap! All proceeds go to to rebuilding houses on the West Side of downtown Buffalo.

Good news! McFadden’s will be showing the next 3 preseason games. Including this Saturday’s game live. Here is the schedule:

Saturday, 8/15 at 7pm vs. the Bears (this is live).
Sunday, 8/23 at 4pm vs. the Packers (this is a replay).
Sunday, 8/30 at 1pm vs. the Steelers (this is a replay).

Please note that this Saturday’s game will have sound until 9pm only (maybe later depending on the crowd).

The Packers and Steelers games aren’t shown live anywhere, and there is no way for McFadden’s to get it. Only the replays are aired on the NFLN. We go through this every year.

The same drink special will be offered as the HOF events, which is:
$3 all drafts including Labatt Blue. $3 well drinks. Wings will be available at no cost.

Unfortunately the last game against the Lions is replayed at both 7am and 4am, so that is a no can do.

There are some good reviews on the History of the Bills DVD. Remember to check it out. I ordered mine and it’s on the way. Once I watch it, I’ll be sure to post an expert (not really) review too.

On Saturday McFadden’s will televise the Hall of Fame inductions of Bruce Smith and Ralph Wilson from 7-10pm and offer $3 drafts (Labatt Blue included) and well drinks.

On Sunday McFadden’s will televise the Bills first preseason game against the Titans LIVE starting at 8pm. During the game the bar will again offer $3 drafts and well drinks.

Everyone psyched about the start of camp? I have to tell you the truth. I thought I lost all optimism at the end of last season. Maybe the new low made for a stronger rebound, because I’m genuinely pumped about the upcoming season. And it’s not just because of T.O. I just have the feeling that all the pieces will come together. Maybin, Wood, and Byrd have yet to sign. Let’s hope those deals get done soon.

Hello all 1,901 NYC Buffalo Bills fans!

As I’m sure most of you know, Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson and all-time sack leader Bruce Smith have been selected to be enshrined into the NFL Hall of Fame on Saturday, August 8th. In addition, the Bills will be taking on the Tennessee Titans in the Hall of Fame Game, the first pre-season game on Sunday, August 9th.

Want to see BRUUUUUUCE and Ralph go into the Hall AND TO’s first game in a Bills uniform with your fellow Bills fans??? Sure you do!

On Saturday, August 8th, McFadden’s will televise the Hall of Fame ceremony and offer $3 drafts and well drinks from 7-10pm.

On Sunday, August 9th, McFadden’s will televise the Bills/Titans Hall of Fame Game and offer $3 drafts and well drinks during the game. Kickoff is at 8pm.
