PUSH Buffalo Takes Manhattan Party III

Hello all 1,923 NYC Bills fans!

As we indicated in a recent email, PUSH Buffalo will be holding its 3rd Annual Buffalo Takes Manhattan Party on Saturday, September 19th, at 8pm in Times Square. 2008’s party was a huge success thanks to the hundreds of NYC Backers who attended as well as the great silent auction donations you made. These included Bills game tickets, designer outfits, magazine subscriptions, BOSE headphones, artwork, autographed items, etc.

So we’re doing a call out to secure some silent auction items for next month’s fundraiser. Should you have anything to donate, please email me asap! All proceeds go to to rebuilding houses on the West Side of downtown Buffalo.

Aaron Bartley, who runs PUSH, even came to NYC last week in an effort to solicit food and beverages from local Buffalo spots in NYC, you can read about it here on Buffalo Rising:

It’s going to be an awesome event, and here’s why:

THE FOOD AND DRINK
Wings from McFadden’s, Atomic and Bonnie’s and pizza from La Nova. Drinks from Labatts and Flying Bison.

THE PARTY SPOT
A Times Square penthouse decorated with a Wall of Heroes (think Irv Weinstein, Commmander Tom, Lucille Ball and Earl of Bud); a Wall of Fame (think French Connection); and photos of Buffalo neighborhoods and industrial sites by Lesley Horowitz and Whitney Crispell.

THE DOOR PRIZES AND RAFFLE ITEMS
Bills and Sabres memorabilia. Gift certificates to more than fifteen Buffalo restaurants and museums. Photos and posters of city landmarks. Collections of poetry by Buffalo poets including Robert Creeley.

THE MUSIC AND DANCING
World famous DJs Rabbi Darkside, Kevlar and LoPro playing jazz, soul, funk, hip-hop and Buffalo classics. And make no mistake, the dance floor will be alive and well after midnight.

THE PEOPLE
Buffalo lovers of all ages and backgrounds representing the whole region, from PUSH’s home turf on the West Side all the way down to Springville and Jamestown and back up to Lewiston and the Falls.

THE WEEKEND FESTIVITIES
Not only should you attend the party, you can make it an all-Buffalo weekend by watching the Bills-Tampa game the following day at McFadden’s, Kelly’s or Bonnie’s.

THE HONOREE
This year’s guest of honor will be world famous playwright A.R. Gurney, author of several plays on Buffalo themes, with many productions on Broadway over his fifty years in the theater.

THE IMPACT
Your $25, which includes food and the first drink, goes to helping PUSH rebuild the West Side one house at a time.

See you at the party!!
