Hello all,

I have mixed feelings about last week’s game. On one hand EJ looked good (nice and composed) for his first NFL start. On the other hand, the team looked undisciplined. 10 penalties? C’mon! Let’s see if Marrone can correct this. Hopefully EJ chewed some guys out too. He seems to be a real leader, a welcome break from the too laid-back west coasters at the helm the last how many years. Bottom line, I’m sick and tired of getting praise from sympathetic friends for almost beating the Patriots. I’ll be much happier when we almost lose games.

Game starts at 1pm. I will be in attendance (if that means anything…)!

Sally Raffle 9/15:
We will be holding a raffle during the Panthers game for our ongoing effort to raise funds for Sally Kabel. Be ready! We’re still rounding up the prizes as we speak. Thank you all who contributed prizes. We will acknowledge everyone once the prize list is final.

Sally Saturday 9/14 Fundraiser:
Don’t forget there will also be a fundraising event tomorrow too. There will be raffles and silent auctions for a lot of great stuff. Tickets include top shelf open bar and food buffet from 7-10pm. I hope to meet some of you there!

Hello all 2,127 NYC Bills Fans!

It’s finally here, the kickoff to the 2013 NFL Season! On Sunday at 1pm the Bills officially launch a new era with a new GM, new coach, and as of this morning – a new starting quarterback! A text from the Bills announced that EJ Manuel will be starting this Sunday for the Bills. Going up against the Pats, not sure if that’s a good thing or bad thing for a first game. I still remember being at Jeff George’s first game years ago and Bruce Smith knocking him out of it. Although I also have flashes to Jim Kelly looking great in his first outing. Guess we will see, but will make Sunday all the more exciting.

Everybody knows the best place to see our new team in action is on 42nd and 2nd at McFadden’s and Calico Jack’s, which promise to be rocking! Specials will start at noon and conclude at the end of the game. Here are the details for the drink/wing specials:

I know Matt Soreco has spread the news of my daughter Sally being diagnosed with Leukemia this summer, originally at 9 months. Infant Leukemia is rare, only 200 cases a year in the USA and Memorial Sloan Kettering, one of the finest cancer institutions in the world, only treats ONE case a year. It brings with it many challenges that don’t occur in kids diagnosed later in life, and much tougher odds. If all goes to plan Sally will receive two years of intense chemo, a very long road that is just beginning.

Nicole and I want to thank everybody for the amazing support the Buffalo Sports community has shown. The social media would has blown up with #SupportSally tweets and posts from fans to sportscasters to the Buffalo Sabres even tweeting it out! I’m sorry that there has been such a delay on us getting more information about Bills at Jets tickets. I heard back from the Jets yesterday. They are STILL working out the ordering details. I’m as anxious to get tickets as many of you. All we can do it wait. Do you think they are messing with us? Nah, they need to sell the seats they can’t sell to their own fans…

Preseason Games
McFadden’s WILL show this Sunday’s game against the Colts. Game time is at 1:30pm. Same drink specials as always https://nycbbb.com/features/drink-specials-times/, although they are not sure if Labatt’s will be in stock on time.

The Friday, 8/16 game against the Vikings won’t be televised live in the area. There will be a REPLAY on Sunday, 8/18 at 10am on the NFL Network. However, given previous year’s turnouts for AM replays, the bar will not likely show this game.

I will confirm with McFadden’s about showing the Saturday, 8/24 game at 4:30pm against the Redskins, which will be aired live.

Like the Vikes, the Thursday, 8/29 game against the Lions won’t be televised live in the area. There will be a REPLAY on Saturday, 8/31 at 7am on the NFL Network. Again like the Vikings game, the bar will not likely show this game.

Bills at Jets Tailgate
There will be a tailgate like last year and previous years. It will be in Lot 26 next to the IZOD Center, near pole A. More details (times, etc.) will be sent closer to the date.

Generator for the tailgate?
A DJ offered to provide entertainment for the tailgate. Does anyone have a generator? I have no idea about the power needs and what is involved. I can make the connection/introduction to anyone willing to bring a generator and/or offer assistance/advice. I think I just broke my personal record for using slashes in a single sentence/paragraph.

Fundraisers for Sally Kabel
There will be 2 events. One on Saturday, September 14 at McFadden’s. Another most likely during the game on Sunday September 15. More details on the game time fundraiser will come soon. I got a lot of replies to yesterday’s e-mail with words of encouragement and offers to help Matt K. I shared this with him and he wants you to know he appreciates it. He also threw in a “Go Bills!”

We are planning a fundraiser. Details will come soon. Thank you to all who have offered to help. We’ll be in touch.

The Jets are going to offer us a group rate again for the September 22 game at MetLife* Stadium. Most likely, the pricing will be $75/ticket for the Upper Sideline and $50/ticket for the Upper Endzone. They are having some delays with their ticketing system, which they are working on. They say they’ll have it resolved shortly and open sales up to us soon. Personally, I think we crashed their system last year and they need to prepare for another stampede.

We WILL have a tailgate again just like last year. Same spot, same everything. Details will come closer to the start of the season.

Just a quick note, we’re receiving emails asking if we’ll be doing a group ticket purchase for the Bills/Jets game in the NJ swamp onSeptember 22nd. The answer – YES!

We’re just working out details with the Jets, once that’s done we’ll send out an email with instructions. The procedure and ticket pricing/options will likely be something similar to what we did last year.
