Buffalo Bills at Cleveland Browns, WNY Food Restaurants in NYC

Hello all 2,104 NYC Bills Fans!

Well, the Chiefs game was more like it, eh? That’s the team we were expecting to see. How about CJ Spiller? No wonder Fred Jackson is apparently ahead of schedule in his recovery, looks like he may lose his starting gig. What’s scaring me is Fitzpatrick, if we can’t run the ball, can he win the game for us? Time will tell, let’s hope Gailey is smart enough to figure out a way to run the ball in enough games.

The Bills head to Cleveland tomorrow, kickoff is at 1pm. We’ll finally get to see how good the Bills run defense really is as they take on the best running back and #3 overall pick of the 2012 draft, Trent Richardson.  The Bills also take on former Head Coach Dick Jauron, who runs the Brown’s Defense. The last couple Browns/Bills match-ups have stunk the place up, the highest points scored by one team being 13. But this year, I see that trend being broken, either offense has potential to put points up.

Come down to McFadden’s & Calico Jack’s to watch the game with hundreds of fellow Bills fans! Specials kick off at Noon and run through the end of the game.

Two New Buffalo/WNY Related Restaurants

I’ve been contacted by two restaurants that have recently opened in Manhattan that serve Buffalo style food, these are the ones I mentioned on my radio interview in Buffalo with John Murphy two weeks ago:

Red’s Char Grilled Hot Dogs – They’re set up inside American Trash, 1471 First Avenue between 76-77th streets and offer Sahlen’s Hot Dogs, Webers Mustard, and Loganberry! The owner attended UB and is married to a Buffalonian. Please check them out and let me know what you think!  You can find them on Facebook under the name above, in fact I just Liked them!

Little Town NYC – They’re located on West 46th Street in the Theater District and offer great foods from the various cities/towns of New York State. Beef on Weck, Garbage Plates, and Wings are all offered. Love this concept, one of our members who is involved with them reached out. You can check them out here: http://restaurantrow.littletown.com/about.php

As I always say, Western NY is taking over the world!

Kansas City Chiefs at Buffalo Bills

Hello all 2,107 NYC Bills fans!

Wow, we broke 2,100, cool! What wasn’t cool was that game against the NJ Jets last weekend, good lord, where was the playoff team we were expecting? They better get their acts together and quick. I just keep telling myself that I’d rather start off slow and get better as the season goes on, instead of starting out hot and falling apart like last year. I was actually begging my wife to go into labor during the game so I could shut it off. I heard the tailgate was awesome, hundreds of you gathered in the lot. We’ve got some pictures below, be sure to check em out. Also want to give shout outs to McFadden’s and Labatt Blue for donating beer & food to the cause!

This Sunday, the Bills play their home opener against the Kansas City Chiefs. Kickoff will be at 1pm, specials at McFadden’s & Calico Jack’s kickoff at noon and run through the end of the game. In case you forgot, or blacked out last season completely like I did, here are the specials:
https://nycbbb.com/features/drink-specials-times/

I hear McFadden’s had a huge crowd last week despite the game being local, so anticipate this weekend to be PACKED at both bars. If you want a seat, get there early. If you want to get INTO the bar, get there early. Veterans – you know when you need to be there.

My brother texted me as I was writing this and said he was just on a plane next to Matt Millen, who picked the Chiefs this weekend. Dick.

My Buffalo Radio Interview
If you didn’t hear, I was interviewed on WGR55’s John Murphy Show last week. Spoke a lot about how we in NYC celebrate Western New York, here’s the link if you want to check it out, just skip ahead to 57:30 right after Marv Albert’s interview:

Alright, finish up your workweek so you can turn your attention to the game. I’ll be home watching the game with my new (and first) daughter Sally, who was born Tuesday. Looks like the fear of a princess birthday party interfering with a game one day is a very real one. God help me.

GO BILLS!!!

Yes there will be beer

Hello all,

Happy football season. Ready? Sheesh, the preseason didn’t do much for my confidence. But thinking about it, our defensive line wasn’t really turned loose. I’m pumped to see the carnage they leave in their wake. I’m still a lot more optimistic than I’ve been in a loooooooooooong time.

Here is the tailgate rundown…

The tailgate location/map can be found here (lot 26, near pole A):
https://nycbbb.com/2012-emails/tailgate-2/

The lot opens at 8am.

There will be beer! McFadden’s is donating cases of beer to us. So is Labatt’s! We should have plenty (hopefully). For those asking… We won’t be charging anything for the beer as long as you are not wearing green. Instead you can donate any amount you think is fair (if you wish), which will be used to cover NYCBBB expenses. Just ask for Matt Soreco. And make sure to thank McFadden’s and Labatt’s!

Another way to contribute is to bring coolers and ice if you can. Or else we might be drinking those bad boys British style.

We sold over 500 tickets! That should make a statement and leave a mark. Funny thing… I was listening to Joe and Evan and they were complaining how ticket prices / seat licenses these days opens the doors to opposing fans and lessens home field advantage. 500+ of us won’t go unnoticed. I wonder if it’ll get covered. I’m not suggesting someone troll their radio show and impersonate an angry Jets fan or anything. It’s just an observation.

If you are not attending the actual game, McFadden’s and Calico’s will be open as usual.

Here is my cell phone if you need it 516-690-7810. See you there?

– Matt Soreco

Yes there will be a tailgate

Hello all,

More details will come early next week, but just to let everyone know… Yes we will have a tailgate set up for next week’s game. Kenny “Pinto Ron” will be there as always. Please see links below to a map of our location and pictures from the Giants tailgate last year to give you a reference. It’ll be in Lot 26 next to the IZOD Center and we’ll be near pole A. If I haven’t plagiarized enough from Kabel’s e-mail last year already: “The best way to describe the location is if you see the huge failed mall they built and you look at the ski ramp, if you drove a car up and off of it you’d fall onto our spot.”

Preseason Games at McFadden’s

Hell all 2,074 NYC Bills Fans!

Just a quick email, 2 things:

1) We sold over 500 tickets to the Bills/Jets opener over in NJ swamplands. That is going to be one LOUD area of the stadium! And yes, McFadden’s and Kenny will be throwing a rockin’ tailgate there as we have in the past. Details on that to come soon, bit there are no longer seats available, we were expecting 300 seats to be sold, the Jets kicked in another 200 for us. I will not be one as I’ll either be awaiting the birth of my daughter, or just had it happen. Hope its a week or so before, I can’t live with the idea of being at a princess birthday party on Kickoff Sunday one day.  God help me.

2) Can you believe the Bills have a preseason game tonight? Where the hell did the offseason go? The game will NOT be televised here in NYC, so McFadden’s will not be showing. However, they will be showing all replays, schedule below. No specific specials, but the game will be on for you to catch, especially the 2 Saturday games which I’m sure will draw some folks.

Friday, August 10
4:00 PM – Washington Redskins vs. Buffalo Bills

Saturday, August 18
12 Noon – Buffalo Bills vs. Minnesota Vikings

Monday, August 27
4:00 PM – Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Buffalo Bills

Saturday, September 1
1:00 PM – Buffalo Bills vs. Detroit Lions

Alright, gotta get back to work, I’ve got scotch to market here people.

Purchase Bills at Jets Opener Tickets NOW!

Hello all 2,052 NYC Bills fans.

READY…SET….GO!!

https://oss.ticketmaster.com/html/go.htmI?l=EN&t=nyjets&o=8523381&g=82

Code: BACKERS12

And you can bet your arse that we’ll have one hell of a tailgate planned! J-E-T-S SUCK SUCK SUCK!!!

Here are the details again for the tickets:

“There are 2 price levels available, with both sections on the away team sideline:

Upper Sideline (currently section 336)…$105/each

Upper Corner/Endzone (currently section 330)…$75/each

Parking is also available in the Orange parking lot, $25/each (per car not ticket).

For the online link, we set the max purchase at 8 tickets and 4 parking passes per order. We can accommodate larger groups, but they will need to call me directly to book the seats.

A couple notes/suggestions/disclaimers for the group…tickets in each price level are subject to availability. We will sell out at some point so I can’t guarantee a specific section or seat. I will continue to add seats available for your group, but the section and location may change from what we have initially depending on the amount of tickets ordered. Also, the $75 tickets are in bigger blocks, so they will be more tightly group than the Upper Sideline ($105) seats. The Upper Sideline seats will still be in the same section just a little more broken up throughout the different rows.

My direct line is 973-549-4883, and my email is baiello@jets.nfl.com. Any questions or concerns from a member have them contact me directly and I will help them get set up. One last thing, all purchases through the link are final and non-refundable…so make sure to double check before submitting!”

Bills at Jets Tickets – FINALLY!

Hello all 2.052 NYC Bills Fans!

Just got back from Buffalo, took the kids to Maid of the Mist, ate at Pearl Street Brewery, caught a Bisons game, BPO and fireworks at the ballpark…it was AWESOME being back.

The Jets finally got the issues with the group tickets squared away, and are now ready to be purchased. Tomorrow at 10am, we will deploy an email to everybody that contains the website/password to purchase tickets in order to give everybody a fair shot at the best seats. This is exclusive to NYCBBB Members!

Here are the details directly from the Jets:

“There are 2 price levels available, with both sections on the away team sideline:

Upper Sideline (currently section 336)…$105/each

Upper Corner/Endzone (currently section 330)…$75/each

Bills at Jets Ticket Update…Again

Hello all 2,027 NYC Bills Fans!

Hope everybody is enjoying the heat! Don’t forget, air conditioning was invented in Buffalo, NY by a guy from Angola, so be sure and spread that wisdom to those enjoying it right now.

Alright, I realized after sending my last email that it wasn’t clear, just like the email before wasn’t. Must be because I’m getting older.

To be clear – nobody needs to send me an email with a ticket request. We currently have well over 200 tickets reserved in Section 334 which will not be released to anybody other than NYCBBB members. As an update the Jets are redoing their system with Ticketmaster, as soon as its done, they will provide us with a link that we’ll send out to you and tickets will be sold on a first come/first serve basis. Ticket prices have remained unchanged, they’re aiming to have the link live to us within the next 2 weeks and have apologized for the delay.

So as soon as we get the link, we’ll send that sucker out and all of you can go in and buy tickets. Cool? No need to email me requests, as much as I love hearing from ya.

Saw an article in The Buffalo News this morning about the cancellation/postponement of the half marathon in Buffalo that was supposed to happen next weekend where the finish line was in Ralph Wilson Stadium. Would have been awesome, I was dying to do it and even tried to change my travel plans up there for it. Anyways, lots of NYCers were planning on doing it according to this article, assuming some of them are NYCBBB members:

Almost into July and training camp!

Bills at Jets Tickets Update

Hello all 2,029 NYC Bills fans,

Just wanted to send an update on the tickets for the season opener between the Bills & NJ Jets. My inbox was flooded with requests for 200+ tickets, I didn’t have a chance to reply to most of you so just wanted to send out a mass email to everybody. We’re working with the Jets on how best to facilitate this as they’re not used to handling group orders this large. They’re working out a solution and have assured us that we are not in danger of losing the seats.

Once we work out the best solution we’ll send out an email with instructions and more info. Everybody who emailed me will be able to get their tickets.

My 3rd kid is due that week, and for those of you that were in the group almost 6 years ago with my first you’ll remember that I pleaded with everybody to use their football juju to ensure an early delivery. It worked then, I need it to work again. Seriously, I can’t have a birthday party falling on the same weekend as the Bills opener every year. And apparently this one is a girl, I can’t be at a princess party while our boys are on the gridiron. So please…help…juju.

Bills at Jets Opener Tix, George Wilson Video

Hello all 2,023 NYC Bills Fans!

The Jets reached out to us and offered us a group sales rate on tickets for the season opener where the Bills come to NJ to take on the Jets Sunday, September 9th. Upper Sideline for $105/ticket or Upper Endzone for $95/ticket. I need to get an idea of interest, so please email me the section & # of tickets you’d plan on buying so I can have them put this together for us.

Also, check out George Wilson’s visit to McFadden’s that was featured on BuffaloBills.com yesterday:
