Well, that sucked. Again. It’s unusual in the Allen Era to check in after the game that followed a loss not celebrating a victory, but unfortunately that’s where we find ourselves this week after a heartbreaking last minute loss to the Texans. Despite having a pretty abysmal first half our Bills fought back in inspiring fashion and almost pulled it out, and while we can certainly have some conversations about the play calling in those final seconds, as well as whether or not Josh should have returned to the game following a terrifying injury in the fourth quarter, there were still some positives to take from this game. James continues to Cook from the back field and we are VERY happy to see Terrel Bernard back. We remain a team that is banged up and looking for our next win, and where better to find it than in our back yard at the Meadowlands against a similarly floundering Jets team that as of this morning no longer has a head coach? This game is turning out to be a very important Divisional game in prime time, so let’s show up in force all weekend long and cheer our team to victory! LETS GO BUFFALO!!!

If that’s how you want to party all day you’re welcome to do so, but beginning at 4:00pm in collaboration with Gameday Hospitality, Pennsylvania 6, Skrewball Whiskey, Happy Dad, and Buffalo Food Slut, we will also be offering a three hour all-inclusive happy hour! Oh hey there NYC Backers!

How’s 3-0 treating you? Personally I let that Victory Tuesday feeling simmer all week long and have been thoroughly enjoying the crow a lot of commentators are eating after watching Josh Allen embarrass the Jags. The beauty of Monday night, though, was that it wasn’t just Josh. It was literally every available member of the offense, either targeted or touching the ball, running up the score. It was an O-line that allowed QB1 hours to throw the ball. It was a defense that shut down anything Jacksonville tried. And how about that full circle moment with the Damar Hamlin INT?! It was just a perfect night, and Penn 6 was an entire vibe. Let’s do it all again!

PUNT FOUNDATION FUNDRAISING

Thank you to everyone at Penn 6 on Monday who kicked off our online fundraising for the PUNT Foundation! In just one night we raised over $1,000, 20% of the way towards our goal! If you didn’t get to experience a prime time Bills game at Penn 6 last week you’re in luck, because the Bills are heading to Monday Night Football when Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars travel to Buffalo. The Bills haven’t had great showings against the Jags recently so it’s going to be a fight under the lights at Highmark Stadium. Where else would you rather be?!

PUNT FOUNDATION FUNDRAISING

September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. As you may know, our organization raises money each year for the PUNT Foundation, an organization founded by former Bills punter Brian Moorman which supports families who are battling pediatric cancer. This battle is a personal one for our organization; one of our co-founders, Matt Kabel, and his daughter Sally and their family became some of the many lives that PUNT has touched when Sally was diagnosed with Infant Mixed Lineage ALL Leukemia at only 10 months old. Sally battled cancer bravely for two years and was in remission, but unfortunately the aggressive treatments she needed to beat her cancer, treatments designed for adults due to lack of funding dedicated to development of child-specific interventions, left her body weary and she succumbed to the effects of her treatment six years ago at only 6 years old. We remember Sweet Sally Sunshine always and keep her memory alive through the support we show to this amazing organization. Money raised each week at the bar with raffles and merchandise sales goes directly to families currently in the fight of their lives. We are working on raising $5,000 this season, and we need your help to do it! We had a clunky pre-season compared to recent years, but we also know that Josh Allen and the whole squad are hungry to prove the doubters and the haters wrong and show up strong at home this Sunday against Arizona. We’ll see who’s overrated Monday morning…

PRE-SEASON KICKOFF PARTY
While pre-season doesn’t exactly matter, it’s still an excuse to get amped for football season and day drink while the Bills play the Steelers! What’s better than that?!

The game starts at 7:00 on Saturday, August 17th but the bar is hosting open bar for all Bills fans from 4:00-5:00, so get there early! What’s up NYCBBB?!

Are you excited for the season yet? It’s hard to believe it’s already July and our Bills take the field for pre-season football in just a few short weeks! And this year our regular season opens against the New York Jets (and some guy they picked up in free agency, haven’t heard of him…) on Monday Night Football at the Meadowlands! It’s going to be such an exciting start to what will hopefully be a very memorable season, and we’re excited to share every moment with you!

Which brings us to the reason we’re writing you. Our Bills Backers chapter has been operating for over 20 years, and while we love our original logo we also think it’s time to mix things up. That’s where you come in! We’re accepting submissions for a new NYC Bills Backers logo! This logo will be featured on all of our socials, our website, and on new merchandise that will be sold this season to benefit Brian Moorman’s PUNT Foundation which serves families navigating pediatric cancer. If you submit the winning design, you will receive a free bracelet for unlimited food and drinks at Penn 6 ALL SEASON LONG. I mean, come on. That’s a LOT of wings and Labbatt Blue.

We will pick the top three designs and put them to a vote on Instagram to select our winner. All designs must include:

• “New York City Bills Backers”, in some capacity
• Be recognizably New York
• “Est. 2002”

We have some more exciting announcements coming your way soon, especially around planned activities for Week 1, so be sure to follow us on social media and keep an eye out for more emails from us.
