Bills Want OUR Members to be on Live NFL Draft Broadcast!

Hello all 2,200 NYC Bills Fans,

We hope this email finds all of you healthy and safe, wherever you are. First off, just remember that we’re all in this together, so if there’s anything you need, please let us know.

Second off, can I just say how much I love the Stefon Diggs trade? I mean, we needed a solid #1 receiver and we got one of the best ones that is going into his prime and has 4 years left on his deal. I usually HATE trading our top picks for drafts, but I agree with Beane that this is the one year that investing in a known commodity over a draft pick makes total sense.

Speaking of the NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills have reached out to us with an exclusive and pretty damn amazing opportunity. As you’ve probably heard, the entire Draft will be done digitally via webcams. The NFL is going to feature live feeds of fans watching the draft from around the country during the national broadcast that will be watched by millions of Americans.

Knowing how hard our city has been hit by COVID19, the Buffalo Bills are inviting our members to be their live representatives to the nation! They are looking or 15 members for Friday night, and 5 for Saturday night. Below are all of the details/requirements. PLEASE READ ALL DETAILS. If you want a spot and can abide by everything listed, please send me an email ASAP at mattkabel@gmail.com with the requested details/photo and I will add you to the list. Just let me know which day you can partake.

ALL RESPONSES MUST BE IN TO ME BY 10AM FRIDAY, APRIL 17th. You will receive more details if chosen.

DAY 1 (Thursday, April 23)

  • Note: Though we currently don’t have a pick on Day 1, there is always a chance we may trade up. Additionally, the league has said that they will try to get teams without a pick on Day 1 on to the broadcast at some point. The league cannot promise, however, that every person and every club will make it on the broadcast, but they will do their best to make it happen.
  • 15 Bills Backers willing to watch the entire broadcast (starting 60 minutes prior), in front of their computer tablet or phone from 7 – 11:30 p.m. ET
    • First name, last name, email address, phone number and headshot for each by noon on Friday, April 17th.
  • These fans must also be available for a dress rehearsal with the league on Tuesday, April 21st. Timing is still being finalized on this, but I will share it as soon as possible.
  • The fans must wear team gear the entire time.
  • The fans must have a valid email address and internet access.
  • The fans must follow CDC social distancing rules.

DAY 2 (Friday, April 24):

  • 5 Bills Backers willing to watch the entire broadcast (starting 60 minutes prior), in front of their computer, tablet or phone from 6 – 11:30 p.m. ET
    • First name, last name, email address, phone number and headshot for each by noon on Friday, April 17th.
  • These fans must be available for a dress rehearsal with the league on Wednesday, April 22nd. Timing is still being finalized on this, but I will share it as soon as possible.
  • The fans must wear team gear the entire time.
  • The fans must have a valid email address and internet access.
  • The fans must follow CDC social distancing rules.

End of Season, Fired Up, Public House Remaining Games/Beer Pong Tourney

Hello all 2,200+ NYC Bills fans!

I’m just gonna come out and say it. I AM FIRED UP FOR NEXT SEASON. I’m not going to spend any time focusing on the Texans game, other than to thank the 400+ of you who showed up to watch it with us at Public House. There were clearly some bumps getting folks in which we’ll work through for next year, but other than that it was an awesome time outside of the loss.

Overall I’m ecstatic with the move to Public House. The venue is awesome, the staff were awesome, the management are awesome, the wings are awesome and it’s closer to Grand Central. I can’t thank them enough for taking us in this year.

That said, 2020 is gonna be lit. As I posted all season, this was a good Bills team who I didn’t even have expectations of making the playoffs, saying it would be a building year towards being legit contenders next season. Securing a spot in the playoffs with two games to go exceeded my expectations. #mindblown

Anybody who bumped into me after the game could see me smiling ear-to-ear (I think some of you wanted to punch me). Listen, Josh Allen came a LONG way. Still has a way to go but the dude is 23 and you know damn well is gonna come prepared to kick ass in Training Camp. Almost the entire roster will be back. We’re $90 million under the cap and Beane has nailed the majority of his draft picks. The Patriots are no longer invincible, the Jets organization is a bit of a mess, and the Dolphins are going full-rebuild.

I mean, did you see Dion Dawkins article today:  https://www.theplayerstribune.com/articles/dion-dawkins-buffalo-bills-mafia

This team is close. They’re hungry, and they want revenge in 2020. The time is now, and the Bills are set to make a true deep-playoff run in the fall. So let’s enjoy this offseason knowing fall is gonna be off the hook.

Public House had a couple announcements they wanted us to share:

REMAINING GAMES
We will be offering the $40 and $55 specials for all the games leading up to the Super Bowl. We will also be offering a $60 premium open bar and unlimited wings for the Super Bowl. If Bills fans come in with their Bills gear, we’ll give them a free shot on us!

BEER PONG TOURNEY – SABRES TICKETS
Also, 3pm on Saturday the 18th, we will hosting a beer pong tournament.

  • First place will get 2 tickets to the Sabres/Rangers game! It’ll be in the Bud Light suite which comes with unlimited beer and food.
  • Second place, 1 hour open bar for the team and 10 of their friends to be booked on a later date.
  • Third place, unlimited wine dinner for 2 on Wednesdays.

We’ll be in touch soon about Sabres game and offseason events. Until then, let’s go Buffalo!!!

Bills @ Texans, Standing Game!

Hello all 2,200 NYC Bills Fans!

If you can believe it, tomorrow is only the SECOND Bills playoff game we’ve hosted in 17 years of the current NYC Buffalo Bills Backers (thanks Russ Brandon) and the first one at our new home. Public House says their phones have been ringing off the hook all week with Bills fans confirming the game will be on, with even some fans traveling here from Buffalo to watch it! We’re expecting a big crowd, so are making appropriate changes to get as many Bills fans in without sacrificing service. if you didn’t read the email I sent earlier in the week please do so now by clicking HERE.

In summary:

  • No stools/chairs/tables tomorrow – This is a standing game as it would be at any playoff game in Buffalo!
  • All booths have been sold out
  • $55 bracelet purchase is REQUIRED (includes beer/popular spirits, house wine, wings)
    • Kids enter free
  • There will be added bars and wing stations
  • Sabres game will be televised starting at 1pm – $4 Blues/Molsons
  • If you want a good spot, get there EARLY

Being our first playoff game at Public House please bear with everyone, we’ll be sure to implement any learning towards the next playoff game (the following week).

See you tomorrow!

LET’S GO BUFFALO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PLAYOFFS!! Important Public House Changes for Saturday!

Hello all 2,200+ NYC Bills Fans!

I apologize for not emailing last week, I was actually running around in Western New York and attended both the Sabres and Jets games.  I’m currently enjoying a good snowfall with friends down at a cabin in Cattaraugus an hour south of Buffalo as I write this.

It’s officially PLAYOFF WEEK! The Bills will head down to Houston to take on the Texans this Saturday at 4:15pm, and it’s going to be a wild one! Being a playoff game, we’re going to make some changes to ensure we can get everybody into Public House to enjoy the game with your fellow NYC Buffalo Bills Backers. To be clear, these changes were requested by us (your NYCBBB staff) and not by the bar as we want to make sure we can create a fun experience for as many Bills fans as possible. Seeing a lot of fans not able to get in for the Patriots game sucked, so want to avoid that.

For the Jets game at New Era Field, the entire stadium stood for the whole (meaningless monsoon) game. When I asked the folks in our section about that, they said they’d been standing for every Bills game this season. During our last (and only) playoff game at McFadden’s two years ago, we jokingly deemed it “a standing game!” and we all stood for it. This is a YUGE game!

That said, this week at Public House we’re going to make some changes (and simplify things) to accommodate the big crowds and improve service so everybody can enjoy the game together and folks don’t get stuck outside:

  1. There will be a MANDATORY $55 special purchase upon entry, which includes open bar and unlimited wings. This will simplify things and allow for faster service. Kids will be free, and we’ll do our best to accommodate those families with youngsters in the back room where they can sit. If you’re planning on attending with young kids, I’d call Public House in advance and discuss with them.
  2. All movable seats/stools/tables in the restaurant will be removed, which will become standing room only. Booths will still be seated as always with wait staff serving and are already sold out!
  3. Public House will staff up and additional satellite bars (serving both beer and popular spirits) and wing buffet stations will be added throughout venue to accommodate everyone in addition to the main bar.
  4. The Sabres game has been moved to 1pm before the Bills play, and WILL be televised at Public House with the usual $4 Blue/Molson pint specials. #onebuffalo
  5. Starting at 3:15pm, everyone in the bar MUST purchase a wristband for the specials or will be asked to leave. So if you’re planning on getting there early to get a prime spot, as I know many will, we just want you to be aware.

We’ll send another email out at the end of the week, but we and the bar are both getting a lot of questions so wanted to address them as soon as possible.

Enjoy your New Year’s Eve tonight, be safe and then be ready to watch the first NFL game of 2020 – Our Buffalo Bills in the NFL Playoffs!!!

#ONEBUFFALO Day, Sabres/Kings, Bills/Pats, Let’s Do This!

Hello all 2,200 NYC Bills fans!

We won it and now we’re in it! The Bills locked in their playoff spot with a hard-fought win over the Steelers last weekend. I consider this the biggest win by the team in 20 years, Dallas isn’t a very good team but the Steelers are extremely well coached and it was on their turf in primetime.

That said, the Bills have a little unfinished business to take care of tomorrow. They should have beaten the Patriots earlier in the season, and firmly believe we would have if not for a cheap shot that took out Josh Allen. Buffalo still has a chance to win the division, and the first step would be a win in Foxboro. Hell, the whole country is rooting for us to take them down. There’s a part of me that wouldn’t be heartbroken over a loss, it would allow us to rest our starters next weekend. However, the bigger part of me wants this win and to go into the playoffs with the momentum.

And…I just hate the Patriots.

Saturday is #OneBuffalo day at Public House. First, we’ll air the Kings/Sabres game at 1pm along with $4 pints of Blue and Molson. Following that, the Bills/Pats game will be aired at 4:30pm with the usual specials. It’s the perfect day to come into Manhattan to see the sights, do some shopping, catch our Buffalo teams in action and have a great time.

If we don’t see you tomorrow, we wish everyone a safe and happy Holiday…

AND LET’S GO BUFFALO!!!

Bills @ Steelers Sunday Night, Updated Specials

Hello all 2,200+ NYC Bills Fans!

We had a packed house at Public House for last weekend’s game against the Ravens, a game that was totally winnable if not for a poor first half showing by Josh Allen and some dropped passes. However, the stars aligned on Sunday night to put the Bills in a “Win it and they’re in it” playoff scenario over the final three games.

The Patriots game in Gillette will be a tough one. I, for one, am terrified of the Jets game at season’s end. I was at the Bills/Steelers game back in 2005 when all the Bills had to do was beat the Steelers’ backups to get into the playoffs, and they blew it. My heart can’t take three weeks of this, so hope they take care of business against the Steelers yet again some 14 years later this weekend. The Bills should win this game, and typically win the games they’re supposed to.

The game was flexed to a national primetime 8:20pm kickoff this Sunday Night. Specials start at 7:20pm and will run through the end of the 4th quarter.

Speaking of specials, Public House has notified us of some mandatory changes that have been made to the weekly specials in order to make them compliant with the latest legalities. All the specials need to be paired with food for social responsibility, so those specials without food will no longer be offered.

On top of that, a breakfast food must be offered with the specials to be in line with other brunch offerings in NYC. So in addition to wings, there will be something “breakfasty” offered. Apparently, wings don’t count as breakfast food here in the Big Apple.

Yes folks, this is the city/state we live in.

UPCOMING SABRES GAMES BEING SHOWN AT PUBLIC HOUSE

Ravens @ Bills, (!!!!)

Hello all 2,200+ NYC Bills Fan!

I’m sure everybody has a great story about watching that Dallas game on Thanksgiving. Mine was watching it surrounded by Jets fan in-laws while my wife played the Shout! song on her phone after touchdowns. It was awesome.

There were around 100 Bills fans at Public House for the Thanksgiving game, all the seats downstairs were filled at the bar and in the dining room. From the videos I saw, it was an awesome time! Thanks to all the staff who were willing to spend the day with those die-hard fans!

This weekend’s game is yuuuuuge. The Bills welcome the powerhouse Baltimore Ravens to Orchard Park this Sunday with huge playoff implications. I’ve heard many mentions of a potential division lead, but I’m more in the “can’t we just focus on actually getting into the playoffs first?” camp. Regardless of where you stand on that, we can all agree that winning this game would be the biggest win in over 20 years. Even a close loss would solidify the Bills as a legit playoff contender.

Josh Allen vs Lamar Jackson is can’t-miss football.
Come on down to Public House this Sunday for the yuuuge game. Kickoff is at 1pm, you know the drill by now.

UPCOMING GAMES
If you haven’t heard, the Bills/Steelers game next week has been flexed to 8:20pm. It WILL be aired at Public House, we’ll have details shortly.

Also, the Patriots game the following week is now at 4:30, with a Sabres game right before. That will be #OneBuffalo Day at Public House!

UPCOMING SABRES GAMES (who appear to be turning things around)

  • Saturday, 4pm – Canucks
  • Sunday, 8pm – Oilers
  • Tuesday, 7:30pm – Blues
  • Thursday, 7pm – Predators

Bills @ Cowboys, Public House OPEN!

Hello all 2,200+ NYC Bills Fans!

Happy Thanksgiving! Just a quick email reminding folks that Public House is OPEN for business today and will be airing all the games, including the Bills/Cowboys game at 4:30pm. The bar reached out last night and told me there were 100 RSVPs (!!!), so if you’re on the fence just know you’ll be in awesome company if you head there.

I’m liking the Bills chances today, the team has really been coming together the last two weeks and hopefully they’ll build on that.

Broncos @ Bills, NOON OPENING at Public House Sunday

Hello all 2,200+ NYC Bills Fans!

Well, that was certainly a lot of fun. If you were lucky enough to be at Public House as the Bills were stomping the Dolphins then you already know that. Epic amounts of confetti, Shout! Song and screaming. I haven’t gotten my voice back yet. As hoped, looks like the reigns were loosened just enough on Josh Allen to see his best game as a Bill yet. True it was against lowly Miami, but it was good to see him taking some risks and the return of some of that fire that’s been missing the last few weeks.

On top of that, as a club we raised over $1,000 for the PUNT Foundation in Buffalo through raffles to support childhood cancer families in Western New York. It was an awesome day, and we want to thank everybody from the bottom of our hearts for contributing to such an awesome organization.

That said, the Bills return to Orchard Park this Sunday to take on the Denver Broncos in what I’d consider a must-win game. I have a feeling the atmosphere will be energetic up there, and expect as much at Public House. Also, there’s a Sabres game at 5pm so you can totally keep the victory party going there!

PLEASE NOTE: Public House has a private party scheduled (it’s annual party that was booked WAY in advance) Sunday morning, so will be unable to welcome Bills fans until noon. Take that as a good reason to sleep in a bit longer.

Couple other announcements:

#ONEBUFFALO DAY – DECEMBER 21ST!
If you haven’t heard, the Patriots game next month has been rescheduled for Saturday, December 21st at 4:30pm. The Buffalo Sabres also take on the LA Kings at 1pm that afternoon, so we’ve got over SIX STRAIGHT HOURS of Buffalo sports airing at Public House. One Buffalo baby! This can also be our annual Christmas/Holiday party, so if you have family visiting that weekend get your shopping and sightseeing done on Sunday and come party with us Saturday!

THANKSGIVING
Just a reminder that Public House will be OPEN for the games on Thanksgiving Day next Thursday, including the Cowboys/Bills game. We’ve got a lot of people who have said they’re going, and even have had a lot of messages from Western NYers who are coming into NYC that week and want to go. To be honest, I’m a little jealous I can’t go…

UPCOMING SABRES GAMES AIRING AT PUBLIC HOUSE
– Sunday, 5PM (following the Bills game) – Panthers
– Monday, 5PM – Lighting
– Wednesday, 7PM – Flames
– Friday, 4PM – Maple Leafs

See you Sunday! LET’S GO BUFFALO!!!

Squish da Fish Part Deux, Thanksgiving Game Announcement!

Hello all 2,200+ NYC Buffalo Bills Fans!

Alright, I totally thought we were going to pull that game out in Cleveland last week. My thoughts:

  1. Singletary should have had twice his 8 carries, 100% inexcusable
  2. Why was Andre Roberts out there and being targeted?
  3. That 3rd down on the last drive was way too sloppy.
  4. Should have run a draw/slant on that final 4th down instead of attempting that long field goal, play to WIN.
  5. Defense did enough to win. Again.

Finally, I do still believe this team is heading in the right direction. As I’ve said all year, this season was going to be about creating a launching pad for next season when the real Super Bowl hunt begins. Personally, I’d really like to see them set Josh Allen free and stop the Tyrod-Taylor game plan.

That said, we take on the Miami Dolphins this Sunday at 1pm, and what looked like an easy win doesn’t look so easy. Still, the Dolphins aren’t a good team, so think it’s a tall order for them to win their third straight and so I see the Bills taking care of business.

THANKSGIVING GAME
Huge Announcement – Our beautifully amazing new home, Public House, has decided that they will be OPEN for the Bills/Cowboys game (and game prior) on Thanksgiving Day! There was no pressure from us to do so, they had some staff interested in working it and said why the hell not? So trade in that annoying family for some wings, beer and Bills Mafia! This is rare Thanksgiving game for us, so if you’re on the fence totally consider heading there for the game and supporting that staff willing to work and having a once-in-a-lifetime Bills experience with other fans.

UPCOMING SABRES GAMES
Don’t forget that Public House is airing all Buffalo Sabres games this season with $4 Blues and Molsons. Here’s a list of upcoming games this week:

  • Saturday 7pm – Ottawa Senators
  • Sunday 7pm – Chicago Blackhawks
  • Tuesday 7pm – Minnesota Wild
  • Thursday 7pm – Boston Bruins

Be sure to sign up for our Sabres mailing list HERE.

See everyone at Public House, let’s go Buffalo!!!!
